Memorial
concert for Thomas Zapolski
|
The
friends and family of the late Thomas Zapolski
are hosting the 3rd Annual Memorial Fund concert
for the Thomas Zapolski Foundation. The concert
will be held at the Erie Art Museum Annex at
5th & State on Sunday, March 30th.
This event features music performed by local musicians playing a
variety of music including Jazz, Pop, Rock and Latin. Below is this
year's lineup:
-Telefonics
-Chrome Yellow Company (indie pop from Ontario)
-Sun Ship (with Alan Chafee)
-Mambo
-Professor Bad Feet (latin funk fusion)
The
Thomas Zapolski Foundation is a non-profit
organization providing financial support for
musical enrichment to children with disadvantages.
Cost of the event is $3.00 per person or donation. Showtime is from
2pm - 8pm, doors open at 1:30pm.

Great
Lakes Film Festival
/ Docksider hosting event
|

The Great Lakes Film Festival, in conjunction with the Docksider will
be hosting a night of music, film and art on Friday, February 21st.
Several short independent films will be shown throughout the evening
with musical backdrop provided by telefonics and
the Johnson's Big Band (from Pittsburgh).
Local artists Kevin Manco (bass player for telefonics) and Justus Cotterill
will also be showing art during the show.

Curtain will be making a rare appearance
at Scotty's Jazz and Cigars this Saturday,
February 15th from 10pm to 1am.
Word
has it that Torn Curtain members Alethea Bodine
and Rick DiBello will be joined by bassist Rob
Vance for this show.

Gravity
Hill to play final show

After
three-and-a-half years on the local music scene, Gravity
Hill will play their final gig this Saturday,
February 8th at Scorchers.
Gravity Hill includes Kevin Hultberg on lead vocals/guitar, Dennis
Hultberg on bass/vocals, Rich Grisier on lead guitar/vocals and Chris
Rodler on drums.

Ninety
Three in Erie
|

Ninety
Three will be playing a show on Saturday,
February 1st at State Street Tavern.
Hatchet Face will open at 10pm, with SFTD taking the stage at 11pm
and Bonesaw headlining.
Ninety Three are originally from Orange county, California and recently
moved to the northwestern PA area.

Live
improvisation from J.D. & the Sons of Rhythm
J.D.
and the Sons of Rhythm will create spontaneous
music at Forward Hall on Friday, January 30th,
beginning at 10pm. Admission is $3.00 per person
at the door.
J.D., Jason and Ricky Hopkins (Father and Sons) will play drums and
percussion. They will be joined by Frank
Singer, Mike Ohm,
Tony Stefanelli, and other invited guests. This group of musicians
perform on the albums "Family Values" and the 2002 release "Primate
Gestures".

Tuesday, January 28th from 10pm - 12am Zomo will
play live on Edinboro Campus Radio 88.9
The band will be taking requests as well as showcasing tracks from
their live EP.
