Description
Hailing from Erie, Pennsylvania, Paper St. just released their sophomore
record, Music for the Desperate (April 04), which was recorded in
Nashville with respected indy producer Chris Mara.
Paper St. formed in September of 2001, and since then the band has
become one of the most popular acts on the regional music scene.
The buzz started with their 2002 independent release, Here to Stay.
With its rude distorted guitar riffs and sweet sounding acoustics
the album soon became a must-have among fans from all over the area.
Due to their expanding fan base, the band secured the promotional
sponsorship of Labatts Blue of Labatts, USA. With the backing the
band finally needed, Paper St. began to take on the region with
a hefty touring schedule of high-energy hard rock shows. They have
shared the stage with the region’s best bands and have also
been fortunate enough to play on the same stage and frequent some
of the same venues as Bruce Springsteen, Seether, SR-71, Evanescence,
The Clarks, Dope, Mushroomhead, and Queens of the Stone Age.
Music for the Desperate is currently being played on more than 240
radio stations across the country and growing. Paper St. also has
finished pre production on a new full length album to be called
"Make Music" for future release. The new material shows
that this band is not only ready to take things to the next level,
but that they are already there..

"I was amazed! Not only do they have a great stage presence,
but they also have a great ability to work a crowd. Everyone that
was there had a great time. This is a band that you need to see
for yourself. Paper Street rocks!" -Grass
Hopper Punch Event Reviews
"I was singing to Never Grow Old the first time I heard it."
-Sally of Score Magazine
"This band rocks hard featuring a lead vocalist with a very
powerful voice…Straight ahead, no frills rockers." -Play

"On ''Desperate,'' they pull it off, creating a well-crafted
disc that's heavy yet melodic, powerful yet also nuanced. This is
one band that can do delicate and heavy equally well. Sometimes
they even do it on the same song, as on ''The Numbness,'' a slow-building,
crash-and-burn rocker." -Dave Richards, Erie
Times
"Musically "Music For The Desperate" makes a powerful
statement" -Rikk Matheson of Rikk’s Revues
"The music got the people up front and kept them there. Playing
a cool variety of mellow and rockin', these guys had a really good
night. So did we!" -Trevor Huster / Diecaster

"Paper Street successfully performs both songs of youthful
angst and mature reflection…" -Jenny

I absolutely love your CD, Music for the Desperate. It is one of
the best CD's I've heard come into our station in a long time. -Tasha
