The air is thick and heavy, awaiting a light summer rain as Starfish takes the giant main stage at Celebrate Erie, 2002. Soon, State Street is going funky! As the band begins to play it's infectious mix of dance tunes it doesn't take long for a crowd to form. Despite a little rain by the end of the 50 minute set, people of all ages and backgrounds are mesmerized by Starfish's "jammin" style and superb musicianship.

Lead vocalist Karen Jeffreys has been a fresh new addition to the band and has taken no prisoners with her effervescent stage presence, not to mention her voice! Her powerful version of "Son of a Preacher Man" stops people in their tracks, while her jazzy scatting and sky-high range on "Moondance" makes your jaw drop at the sheer ability.
