Metal Battle 2004 Reviewer

The Reviewer circa 1976

The photo says it all. I'm accessing a deep part of my fragmented personality to provide commentary on the Metal Battle 2004.

Why?

Because PlayErie.com's resident reviewer and ambassador (John Johnston) was unavailable . . . or was it "unwilling" to cover this event. Well . . . he is the local noise pop guru . . .

So. I selected myself because of the antics in my past. Most notably my time with Pistol Whip (1975-1978). The photo shows the early stage of the band, before we heard the Ramones and mutated into a mad, hard rock/new wave 'gang'.

The framework for these reviews will be based on metal's founding fathers such as Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Sir Lord Baltimore. Vanilla Fudge, Blue Cheer and others buried in the dark corners of my mind.

For all you gear-heads: I'm playing a black 1976 Gibson Flying V through a 1972 100 Watt Marshall powering the bottom 4 x 12 cabinet. AND. Also through a 1974 50 Marshall powering the top 4 x 12 cabinet. Both Marshall 4 x 12 cabs are loaded with 25 Watt Greenback Celestions.
