Meet the Reviewer

Ikita

First up . . . Ikita

These guys are letting it all hang out . . hanging 10 as they say on the surf. Going into battle with just their boots on!

The trio has long been a staple of rock music ever since jimi Hendrix was unleashed. A difficult animal to tame for sure. Ikita however, has mastered the beast. They claim their influences are Slayer and Pantera but I heard some Janes Addiction in there ( don't ask me why ) rock funky almost. This was due in large part to the movement of the bass.

Cool.

Dedloft

Second . . . Dedloft

Well . . . what can I say? Energy x 100! Tighter than Leslie West squeezing into a midget's leather pants! Heaver than 15 John Goodman's riding a GE locomotive!

Maybe the genetic link between the Baumgardner brothers has something to do with it . . . call it a shared vision. At any rate, Dedloft is in 1st place as of this writing.

Slam Corps

Third . . . Slam Corps

So . . . I 'm talking to Angie from Media Play and she tells me that I should make sure the public knows that Slam Corps lead singer sometimes looks like a hungry pitbull scoping out his next meal. and I say well . . . ah . . . he reminded me of a crazed Vince Carter trying to locate and kill Gomer Pyle. That . . . . or a man who has done too much drywall!

Anyone ever do drywall? And I don't mean fixing your grandmother's bathroom. I mean DRYWALL - 50 unit apartment buildings and hotels. I've been there . . . with all the maggots! . . . and not until I saw Slam Corp did I realize that this is the music to free your oppressed soul!

Cemetary Man - Great song titles! These guys also had dynamics. Tempo shifts and groovy riffs!
